Doug prepared for Bonneville 2007, starting with a trip to Roberts' Racing Engines.

Then a day at the A2 Wind Tunnel, in Charlotte, NC.

Getting ready for the Salt always includes at least one trip to the ECTA Maxton Air Strip in Laurinburg, NC.

The time finally came to head out west to the Flats and the SCTA 2007 Speed Week, where he set a new record of 209.735, and proudly accepted his induction into the "Most Exclusive Club in the World," the Bonneville 200 MPH Club!

Unfortunately, the Bonneville Roadster was protested, and despite the fact that Doug had written pre-approval from the Head of the SCTA Roadster Committee for the protested modifications made to the 2 time record-holding vehicle before he purchased it, the SCTA committee upheld the protest, and took Doug's record away.

So . . .

He headed back to the World Finals in October to reclaim his title. And he did just that with a 207.976 on his first day there!

Doug was honored to have the previous owners, Phil and Roseann King join our crew for the October event, along with Tim Lucas. And a very thoughtful spectator, Joe Baxter, shared his photos with us!

We'd also like to Thank Salty Dogs Racing for loaning us some rather pertinent spare parts. Without them, Doug might not have been able to get his record back!

And as always, major gratitude goes out to ALL the volunteers who put so much into everything they do to make sure that the Bonneville Meets not only occur, but run smoothly and safely!

Special Thanks to all!

BE SAFE! GO FAST! AND HAVE FUN!
